Holiday fun at home

For some fun things to do when you are at home, visit one of our libraries and collect some great books to read, and a log for the Summer Reading Club. While you are there grab a copy of the Captain Sneer the Buccaneer Colouring in Competition for a chance to win some great prizes.

Parents or carers must stay in the library during these sessions.  Childcare  centres and groups must phone for bookings. If you are unable to attend after booking, please notify the relevant library.

Teens

Today at the Library...Fake photograph contest

Create funny and memorable photos following the theme of Today at the library… by modifying the photos supplied. Entries are open from 2 to 15 January 2017. The most creative and funny entry will win a prize.

Offbeat Origami

Wednesday 11 January, 2 - 4pm at Armadale Library
Join us for this hands on origami workshop where artist Nami will show participants how to make some funky origami pieces.

Heavenly Henna

Friday 20 January, 2 - 4pm at Armadale Library
Have you ever wanted to try temporary henna body art, or wondered how to make henna? Come along to this workshop and you will learn how to make your own henna and practice creating designs.

Pokémon Go

Monday 23 January, 2 - 4pm at Armadale Library

Join us for an afternoon of Pokémon fun. There will be activities including the opportunity to catch some Pokémon in the library. Participants should bring a mobile device with Pokémon Go installed.

These three sessions are for young people aged 12 to 16 years.

Exhibition - In the Home: How our homes have changed

History House Museum, from now until April 2017, during the museums normal opening times.
Explore how our homes have changed over the last 100 years, from the size of our blocks, to the rooms in our house, down to the objects we use everyday.

Games Afternoon Summer Sessions

Wednesdays from 7 December to 22 February, 1 - 3pm at Kelmscott Library
Come along and join in a board or card game on Wednesday afternoons during the hot summer months.  Meet other game enthusiasts, keep cool and have a lot of fun in the process.

New Year - New You

Tuesday 10 January, 6 - 7pm at Armadale Library
The New Year is a great time to make a new start.  Dr Pam Lynch will share with you how to set goals, step out of your comfort zone and shape your future the way you want to.
