Focus Photographic Competition

Focus Photographic Competition

The FOCUS local history photo competition is back in 2021, with cash prizes up for grabs to amateur photographers.

This year’s theme ‘Emergency Services’ asks for present-day photos showing the buildings, vehicles and officers of our district’s fine front-line Emergency Services organisations. This includes Fire / DFES and Bushfire services, Police, Ambulance and Hospital, SES and Rangers.

Grab your camera and help us capture the history of the groups whose courageous members come to our aid when it’s needed most!

*Note - ANY PHOTOGRAPHS OF LIVE EMERGENCY SCENES WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

A sensitive approach is needed and no entrants should be following emergency services personnel into dangerous situations. Please stay away from live emergency scenes.

The hints & tips sheet is super helpful and can give you the inside track on the best places and times to be photographing. This map of suburbs in the City of Armadale will tell you where the City’s boundaries are.

BONUS CATEGORY: the pre-2000 ‘open historical’ category asks for scans of photographs more than 21 years old. So open your old photo albums and show us how our district looked decades ago! Enter your favourite pre-2000 photo taken within the City of Armadale for more chances to win a cash prize and a large acrylic-mounted copy of your image.
