BirtwistleWiki
The BirtwistleWiki 'Our Contribution' lists the hundreds of locals who served in World War One plus those from Serpentine-Jarrahdale and Gosnells. The Wiki also lists World War Two veterans from the Shire of Armadale-Kelmscott (City of Armadale).
The Wiki was created from the military research of Linton Reynolds, who investigated the names listed on Armadale's Memorial Obelisk (1916) and the Kelmscott Memorial Obelisk (1921). The research revealed names not originally listed that should have been included. Conversely, some names listed were misspelled or were added in error.
The Wiki is an attempt to correct errors of the past and invite new information and photographs from descendants of the listed individuals. Many names have since been added for service people who were previously overlooked.
BirtwistleWiki also has a Cemeteries section, listing memorials at the St Mary in the Valley cemetery, Ron Buckingham Memorial Gardens and the former Kelmscott Public Cemetery (now John Dunn Reserve).
